When I first met Mr Awad, I was at the lowest point of my life. Years of yo-yo dieting and obsessing about food, followed by frustration at slow losses and a feeling of being different from "ordinary" people who seemingly ate whatever they wanted and not put on an ounce had left me demotivated, depressed and severely overweight. I literally had reached a dead end and I didn't know what to do anymore. My initial contact was via phone and of course I was so nervous but Mr Awad was so empathic, understanding and kind and talked me through the process very clearly. Once I made the decision to have the surgery, the process was so smooth and communication was superb. The surgery took place at Burcott Hall and it was a very nice venue with compassionate and caring nursing staff. Mr Awad was approachable, kind, extremely professional and gave you a strong sense of being in good hands- to be honest, Id say he was borderline genius! He seems to not really know how brilliant he is because he is a modest person but I can honestly say, this man changed my life that day. Although obviously this is a big undertaking, I have not regretted the decision once, and now 12 weeks later I am 4 stone 10 down and I have gotten my zest for life back again. The aftercare from the tonic team and the communication with Mr Awad and his Personal Assistant, Sarah, post op were great too and he has just been in touch for our 12 week review, where upon he was his usual charismatic and approachable self, plus he was very pleased with the results(as am I!). I should add here, since surgery my diagnosis of being diabetic has changed and I am now in the normal range- no more diabetes here! All I can say is, if you are thinking about surgery with Mr Awad, think no more. He is an expert in this field, has years of experience , has had over 50 publications, including research projects, speaks at medical conventions worldwide and is renowned and respected within the bariatric community. He is also just a really nice bloke, who genuinely feels passionate about his work. My only regret? That I didn't do this years ago. Thank you Mr Awad, and the team at Tonic Weight loss - you have literally changed my life.

I had a gastric sleeve operation with Mr Awad at Burcott Hall through Tonic Weight Loss. Mr Awad gave a thorough knowledgeable initial consultation and I was able to make contact with him again through the clinic to ask questions based on my initial consultation. Mr Awad took my medical history into account prior to making his recommendation for surgery. I was made to feel very comfortable on the day of my surgery and Mr Awad and his team helped me to relax prior to being put under anaesthetic. The morning after surgery, Mr Awad came to see me and explained that surgery had gone well and showed me photos of the surgery. The aftercare that I have received from Tonic has been great, with daily calls for the first week after surgery from a bariatric nurse and then weekly phone calls. I have regular check ins now with the Tonic team and they are available to me should I need any further information or advice. I have had a follow up post surgery telephone consultation with Mr Awad who has confirmed that all is going well and to plan. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Awad, a fantastic surgeon and a lovely man. Thank you.

Mr Awad and his team have been outstanding. Mr Awad explains everything thoroughly and puts you at ease every step of the way. His team are so kind and warm. From the initial consultation right to my 3 month check today Mr Awad has given me outstanding care and support. He is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of bariatric treatment and surgery but in addition to that his patient care and approach is outstanding. My properties care was thorough and detailed, all communication was handled efficiently and clearly. I was given all of the information I needed at exactly the right time. Any contact I made with Dr Awad was dealt with and replied to quickly and effectively. The biggest thing for me was the sense of safely, responsibility and expertise that I experienced on every step of my journey with this operation and recovery. The attention to detail, care plan and support was first class and continues to be moving forward. My operation went smoothly, I was very well looked after and cared for my Mr Awad and his whole team. The after care is outstanding, I had some small issues with my recovery and the help, support and care I received from the Tonic Nurses was absolutely fantastic. The positive impact this surgery has had on my life is immeasurable. I’m confident and very pleased to recommend Nr Awad highly to anyone wanting to improve their health with bariatric surgery. My experience was so positive my own mum is now going through her own surgery, such was my experience first class.
